A Testimonial Note on Auburn Ravine Salmon in Auburn Ravine. Bill has brought the Native American perspective on our efforts to return salmon and steelhead to Auburn Ravine ... from the beginning. Dear People, Many of us have gathered on the Auburn Ravine at McBean Park in Lincoln over the past five years and have prayed for the return of Wild Salmon to the Auburn Ravine to Lincoln. Many people, near and far, have taken responsibility to initiate conditions in the Ravine that are leading to enormous good for all living beings in this watershed and beyond. With great joy, our prayers have been answered, Salmon have returned. However, now that salmon have returned, salmon are speaking quite loudly to their need to travel to their ancestral spawning grounds above the Hemphill Dam. As noted in the enclosed correspondence, and in viewing this alarming video ( http://goo.gl/VECeNo ) our hearts have been touched by their return, and our souls are crying out for our collective desire to help them survive against insurmountable odds. This moment in time provides each of us on this email list with a chance to achieve something grander than any of us may be able to imagine. That WE, individually and collectively, use our Spirit and Talents to identify and take action to insure that: 1) fish passage is once and for all complete throughout the Ravine, 2) that salmon return to their ancestral spawning grounds in growing numbers, and 3) that we allow Mother Nature to guide us in every step and action that we can take to make this reality. Once we act, fish passage happens, fish return home, and Mother Nature will do the rest. Bill Jacobson www.salmonjourneys.com
